After completing the basic safety training, the graduate receives a certificate of completion of the basic safety training, on the basis of which the transport authority, inland navigation department, issues a skipper’s service record book.
On the basis of Directive 2017/2397 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the recognition of professional qualifications in inland waterway transport, which was implemented in the Slovak legal framework by Act of the National Assembly of the Slovak Republic No. 338/2000 Coll. In accordance with Act No. 381/2021 Z.z. of the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic, which specifies the details of the qualification requirements for a crew member of a vessel operating on an inland waterway connected to the navigable waterway network of another Member State, a candidate for the issue of a skipper’s service record book must undergo basic safety training in an organisation approved by the Transport Authority, Inland Navigation Department.

To obtain your first service record book, you still had to submit an application for a first service record book + medical certificate of fitness + photo + stamp by the end of 2022, and the transport authority, or the SPS in the Czech Republic, issued you your first service record book.
Following this Europe-wide change in legislation, it is also necessary to successfully complete a three-day basic safety training course.
After successfully completing the course, you will receive a certificate from us, on the basis of which you can have your first service book issued by the transport authority (SK) or SPS (CZ) or in a country of your choice within the EU.
